Ben Carter Olcott is a Los Angeles-based writer of literary fiction and drama/thriller television. His work explores power, shame, masculinity, class, and intimacy under pressure.

He is an Associate Producer to Emmy‑nominated writer‑producer Robin Veith (Mad Men, The Act) and was a writers’ assistant on the Hulu true crime series Candy.

He was a finalist in the TheMissouri Review 2025 Editors’ Prize, shortlisted for The MastersReview 2025 Best Emerging Writers contest, and recently supported by the Kenyon Review Summer Writers Workshop.

His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in X-R-A-Y, 9VT\5, Pangyrus, Marrow, TulipTree, Cusper, Showcase, Hypocrite Reader, Sharkpack Poetry Review, and KGB Bar Literary Magazine.

Ben was formerly the moderator of the Coyotes Literary Fiction book club at Skylight Books in Los Angeles and the Managing Editor of KGB Bar Literary Magazine. He is based in Los Angeles.
